TEAM AND ROLE OVERVIEW

The Agri-Sales Officer is being recruited, in a full-time position, to be a part of the aQysta Assam team.
-
The Agri-Sales Officer will work to expand aQysta’s Grown Farm Incubator in North-East India, by onboarding more customers for sales of crops/harvest of farmers that aQysta works with.

As such, the Agri Sales Officer will be at the heart of aQysta’s mission of empowering smallholder farmers.
RESPONSIBILITIES
-
Develop new sales channels for the produce/harvests of the Grown Farm Incubator in North East Region, India.

Generate leads of market partners/actors who are willing to buy harvest from farm incubator premium as well as graduate farmers.
-
Close the deals that are there in the sales pipeline.

Conduct thorough market research about crops and pricing and buyer validation.
-
Contribute to the development of a sales strategy in Assam.
-
Maintain and update the database of buyers in the company’s CRM system.
-
Support in the creation of suitable marketing and promotional material to generate new relevant leads and interested buyers.
BACKGROUND
-
Minimum of 2 years working experience in the marketing and sales of agriculture crops/harvests/commodities by working closely with market actors in the sales of agri-products from farmers/farmers groups/ cooperatives.

Having practical experience in agriculture value chain development is required.
-
Having an experience in the local market of Assam is a must.
-
Having a Bachelor’s degree in marketing/sales/business studies. Having an academic background in agriculture will be considered a plus. BBS/ BBA with strong work experience may also qualify.
-
Excellent communication skills to communicate with traditional, conventional, and non-conventional, as well as institutional buyers of harvests/crops.
-
Commendable negotiation skills.

Able to plan both work and organize the team and yourself.
-
Entrepreneurial, self-driven, as well as proactive in work approach.
-
Candidates possessing a valid driving license will be preferred.
-
Having language proficiency in English and Assamese language is a must.
