TEAM AND ROLE OVERVIEW

  • The Agriculture Associate is being recruited, in a full-time position, to be a part of aQysta Nepal’s team for six months with the possibility of an extension.

  • The Agriculture Associate will work closely with aQysta’s agri and marketing team.

  • The Agriculture Associate will eventually evolve as an agricultural expert at aQysta and will strengthen the agricultural value chain

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Located in Kathmandu and works to manage aQysta’s farmers’ onboarding and market linkage activities in Koshi Province, Bagmati Province, etc.

  • Managing work and relationships, and motivating farmers in the selected working area.

  • Working closely with farmers, arranging visits, meetings, and training to be provided in working areas preferably in Koshi Province

  • Coordinate with the Sales and Marketing team to help link the produce/harvest of farmers to the market.

  • Support (when needed) to the Agronomy team in providing technical guidance to farmers on growing, monitoring, and pest management of selected crops for targeted output achievement.

  • Recording and sharing regular farming data in the company record-keeping platform.

  • Coordinate with Agronomists for identifying the related farm intervention, identification of high value crops.

BACKGROUND AND SKILLS

  • Education: BSc. Ag plant science or equivalent.
  • Min. 1 year of experience in working in agriculture, agri-sales and marketing, supply chain management.
  • Hands-on experience working in farming, production planning, and training farmers.
  • Ability to motivate and manage farmers.
  • Good communication skills to communicate and build rapport with diverse stakeholders.
  • Self-disciplined and trustworthy.
  • Proactive and can work independently whenever required
  • Knowledge and experience of agri-business practices with smallholder farmers are preferred.
  • Willingness to travel frequently outside the valley especially around districts of Koshi Province.
